From father’s foundations old
Grey silence as first flakes fall,
While warmth and laughter fill gods’ hall;
She strides to Asgard’s walls, bold.
Like ice melting, mail gleams,
A goat and a rope, white feet and new stars;
Wolves’ howls, gulls’ cries, unhealed scars,
Like flames freezing, venom steams.
Sly One stays too long at feast,
Too many missing by his wiles,
Too little charm, too few smiles:
Now, cold counsel comes from east.
A serpent to silence his slurs.
Thjazi’s Thudding Home, now hers.
Hail Skaði!
